Who can perform the Vampire

Only those physicians who have officially trained and who have successfully completed the certification process for the Vampire Treatments (Vampire Hair Regrowth®, Vampire Facial®, Vampire Facelift®, Vampire Wing Lift®, the O-shot® and P-shot®), taught by Dr. Charles Runels, can perform the Vampire Hair Regrowth®. Dr. Melfi is listed as a certified provider to perform all of these procedures.

Vampire Breast Lift®

The Vampire Breast Lift is a non-surgical method of using PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) to give lift and volume to aging breasts.

What Is the Vampire Breast Lift®?

The Vampire Breast Lift® is a non-surgical, no-downtime form of breast rejuvenation that uses your own blood and dermal filler to lift the breast and nipple. This procedure is for women who would like to improve their breast cleavage area as well as lift and tighten the skin along the midline of the chest wall. While women may like the size of their breasts, some would like more pronounced cleavage or more volume at the top of their breasts. The Vampire Breast Lift® helps improve the shape of the breasts without invasive surgery. The aim of the Vampire Breast Lift® is to do what a well-made push up bra would do: provide lift and cleavage.

Vampire Hair Growth®

What is the Vampire Hair Regrowth® Procedure?

The Vampire Hair Regrowth® is a treatment using your own platelets (platelet-rich plasma, or PRP) to help restore and stimulate regrowth of hair. For more information about PRP, read “What is PRP?” Platelets are very small cells in your blood that are involved in the clotting process. When PRP is injected into the damaged area it causes a mild inflammation that triggers the healing cascade. As the platelets organize in the tissue they release a number of enzymes to promote healing and restoration of tissue. They have also been shown anecdotally to promote hair growth.

Both women and men suffer from hair loss. Typically, men suffer from hair loss along the crown as well as receding hairlines. Women can have generalized thinning along the entire head. Although, hair loss can result from a variety of conditions and factors. During your consultation, Dr. Melfi can help decide if the Vampire Hair Regrowth® procedure is right for you.

How does the Vampire Hair Regrowth® work?

PRP is extracted from your own blood and placed in the intended target areas of hair regrowth after the scalp is anesthetized. When activated, PRP releases growth factors signaling stem cells and other healing factors in the area to allow follicles (if still viable) to regrow hair. Think of PRP as acting like a fertilizer for the hair.

How is the Vampire Hair Regrowth® performed?

A topical anesthetic is applied directly to the area of the scalp being treated, and local anesthetic can also be injected along the scalp to provide additional comfort during the procedure. Using a small needle, and/or a Micro-Needling device (see Micro-Needling webpage) the PRP is injected into the scalp, and the area is gently massaged to evenly spread the PRP. Depending on your response to the initial treatment, up to three treatments spaced four to six weeks apart may be needed for optimal results.

*Results may vary for each patient and depend on viability of hair follicles. The Vampire Hair Regrowth® may not work on all people.

When will I start to notice a difference?

Some patients start to notice new hair regrowth a few weeks after their treatment. Typically, though, most notice the biggest difference at least three to six months after initial treatment. Results may vary, and they depend on the viability of existing hair follicles. Patience is very important! We recommend to start with three treatments one month apart to achieve the best results.

Who is a good candidate for the Vampire Hair Regrowth®?

Patients with the most significant results are those in the early stages of thinning hair who still have viable and at least somewhat active hair follicles.

Men and women who have naturally thinning hair and overall good health have the most optimal results. People who smoke have varying results and are encouraged to stop/quit smoking prior to having any PRP treatments. Women may respond better than men.

How long will the effects last?

Results vary depending on the extent of hair loss and viability of existing hair follicles. Effects can last up to a year or longer; however, ongoing maintenance treatments may be needed to achieve lasting results, since hair follicles continue to age. To maintain your results and the thickness of your hair, we recommended you have maintenance treatments every 6-12 months.

Vampire Facelift®

You may have heard or seen photos about the newest advancement in cosmetic medicine technology called the Vampire Facelift®.  It has received widespread media attention because it uses your own blood in addition to dermal filler for the most natural way to achieve youthful and more voluminous skin.  In other words, your own body is producing the cellular growth of new skin, new collagen, and new blood flow. The combination of dermal filler (to create a natural shape) and PRP done in a specific way makes the Vampire Facelift® unique.

The Vampire Facelift® has become popular with many celebrities and now is becoming more and more common among everyday people who wish to avoid surgery yet still obtain a youthful and healthy look.

What is the Vampire Facelift®?

The Vampire Facelift® is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure used to enhance volume, elasticity and natural shape in the face by injecting a combination of dermal filler with PRP in specific areas with special techniques (see “What is PRP?). The goal is to attain healthy, youthful, and rejuvenated skin, without the downtime. PRP and its healing properties are used to harness your own body’s healing and regenerative properties. The Vampire Facelift® is an office procedure, and results can be experienced on the same day, with continual benefit of skin regeneration lasting for months – even over a year – after the procedure. Only licensed providers of the Vampire Facelift® know the trade secrets of this procedure.

The Vampire Facelift® is a procedure, not a product. As described by Dr. Runels who designed and trademarked the procedure.

The 3 “ingredients” of the Vampire Facelift® are:

  1. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) combined with…
  2. A traditional dermal filler, using…
  3. Specific techniques (trade secrets) of injection of BOTH the PRP and the dermal filler to create a younger looking face while still keeping the shape natural.

Vampire Facial®

The Vampire Facial® helps to combat visible signs of aging through the topical application of PRP with micro needling. You will see a brighter tone, improved texture, and smoothing of fine lines as your body produces more collagen, and blood flow increases.

What is the Vampire Facial®?

The Vampire Facial® is a unique non-surgical, minimally invasive procedure utilizing micro needling along with PRP (platelet-rich plasma) to help erase wrinkles and improve your skin texture and tone. It is also used to improve scars.

Here’s how it’s done….

Steps of the Vampire Facial® Procedure:

  1. A simple blood draw is completed and then the blood is spun in a centrifuge to isolate growth factors from your blood. (Read “What is PRP?”).
  2. A topical anesthetic cream is applied to your face.
  3. Your skin is thoroughly cleansed.
  4. The provider uses a micro-needling device to create micro-punctures—both driving the isolated growth factors into the skin and creating stimulus for tightening and rejuvenation of the collagen of the face.
  5. The growth factors are painted on the skin and absorbed into the micro-punctures for further stimulation of skin rejuvenation and tightening.
  6. The skin tightens and glows with color, and scarring softens for a beautiful, younger and natural looking result.
